Great pictures. It was really nice out there after the snow, before the crowds came and with great visibility across to other mountains. Looks like you guys had a good hike as well!

Thanks for the comments. This was one of my favorite hikes so far. Hiking on the new snow without seeing signs of other people was a great “wilderness” experience. I keep wondering if this current storm will obliterate the snow with rain, or will it dust it off for a new fresh snow hike. I would like to get to Peak 5243, which is just east of Oaknazita Peak, and I am contemplating whether to go via the East Mesa Fire Road or the Descanso Creek Trail. Either way looks great.
