At 6,223 feet, this is the highest peak of the 100 Peaks that I've summited so far. However, it has also been the easiest hike, as it is less than 1.5 miles round trip, and around 300 feet of elevation gain from trailhead to summit.

Since the hike was so short, I decided to bring my 18-month-old daughter along in a carrier. She enjoyed calling out the numbers on the trail and looking for lizards.

Once we got on the summit, she excitedly climbed some small hills and played in the dirt. We were presented with a wonderful view of the Cuyamaca area.

We got back to the parking area in no time. We were going to see the visitor center, but Sophie fell asleep two minutes after getting in the car. A lot of excitement and the fresh air wore her out.

Update: I’ve been here several more times, four of which was when the mountains were covered in snow. It’s a great hike for kids who haven’t hiked in the snow. Be aware that the gate is often closed, so it make the hike a little longer, but it’s mostly flat until the proper trailhead.
